Rogue Brewing Company
(short notes)

Newport, Oregon

Rogue Shakespeare Stout PNW Stout * * * * 1/2
This beer reviewed by Nick Bruels. See the full review of Wild Irish (aka Shakespeare) Stout for comments.

Rogue Artisan Lager Helles? * * 1/2
Clean and crisp as a lager ought to be, but rather unremarkable with a dry finish and only a wee bit of malt evident in the profile

Rogue American Amber American Amber * * * 1/2
Bottle tasting, purchased at Burlingame Market in Portland, Oregon. Purchased and tasted in July 1996.

This beer is best understood as a malty counterpart to the extra-hoppy Rogue St. Red in Rogues lineup of American Ambers. The beer is deep red in color, slightly hazy, with a deep malty aroma. The flavor features a good clean bitterness but the spotlight is placed squarely on the crystal malt.
