Marin Brewing
(short notes)

Lakespur, California

All beers sampled at the brewery, August 1995.

Weiss American Wheat * * 1/2
American. Fresh, perhaps a tad young. Not quite bland, with some wheaty flavor.

Blueberry American Fruit Ale * * 1/2
Berry in nose, fairly strong. Fair enough beer throughout, with a dry finish. Uninspired.

Pale Ale American Pale Ale * * *
Moderate hoppy nose. Dryish, with a fair hoppy profile. Pale, trying to emulate Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Assertive bitter finish.

Breakout Stout Stout * * 1/2
Nice coffee/roasty nose. Not opaque. Dark, ruby brown in color. Would make an excellent robust porter, but does not have a roasted barley presence in flavor to qualify as a stout.
